Single and Looking!

A few weeks ago on a Sunday my cousin came to my parent's house for dinner. He came riding up on his new motorcycle in the poring rain! He didn't know it was suppose to be rainy that day, even though it had been in the weather report for a long time before. Anyway he had to put all his clothes in the dry while he was their house. When it was starting to get late and he decided he needed to go he asked my mom for some plastic bags for his feet so that they wouldn't get wet as he drove home. My dad did one better and got him this raincoat and pants! He put it all on, plastic bags on the feet and all! We had a good laugh with him and his response was "At least I won't get wet this way!" As he left we thought what would it be like to be driving down the freeway and look to your side and see this young guy riding a nice motorcycle wearing this bright yellow rain gear and plastic bags on his feet. We spent the rest of the night laughing our heads off! Brandon we love ya! Thanks for making us laugh!
Yes ladies he is SINGLE (for the time being)!!!
Here he is getting those plastic bags on his feet to keep the water out!

Here he is getting ready to ride home in the rain!

Laundry Day

So Makayla is almost 6 months old, only a few more days, and I thought it was time to wash all of her bigger and warmer clothes since it should, key word should, be getting colder soon. I went through all the new stuff and got my laundry started on Saturday morning. I couldn't believe how much there was to wash with her clothes and ours put together. It took me all day Saturday to get it all done, and I didn't have time to fold it as I was doing it, so by Saturday night we had piles of laundry to fold. Caleb thought it would be fun to put Makayla in all the clothes and take some pictures. So here she is amidst all the clothes, most of which are hers that she hasn't worn yet.

I though this was such a precious picture of her.

When we first threw all the clothes on her she was just a giggling and trying to eat them all. That is her favorite thing to do put everything and anything in her mouth. I love when she giggles it makes me so happy to be a mom!

Attitude!

I thought I would share some of these "attitude" pictures of Makayla with you.
Boy does she make us laugh. Whenever we put her down in anything that has an edge to it, like her car seat, bathtub, bouncer, swing, etc. when we look at her she has to have her arms out over the edge of them. Sometimes, especially in her car seat it looks like she is holding on for dear life! She also likes to pull this face that makes you think she has some major attitude! Just thought I would share this with you!

Here she is at bath time! She sure loves being in the water, and I can't wait until she gets to sit up on her own and play. See her right arm over the side of the tub.

Here she is in her bouncer right after a nap. She is just sit there again with her right arm over the side!

This is probably my favorite! She is just "chillin" in her swing! I love this little girl!

Makayla Has Finally Moved Out!

We have finally done it! We have put Makayla in her own room! I know, I know, we should have done it much sooner than now, but it was just so EASY to have her right next to me!
Everyone, my mom!!, kept telling us that it was time to put her in her own room, but I just didn't want to listen. It wasn't that I was scared to have her in her own room or anything like that. It was just that now if she cries, instead of rolling over and putting her binky in her mouth I have to get out of bed and walk to her room to do it. I know I am lazy, but what can I say. All I know is that Caleb will be helping more now that she is in her own room. (yes he is willing to do this)
After all she is 6 months old and Both Caleb and I have been saying for awhile now that since she has such a cute room, thanks to his family chipping in to buy the matching accessories for it, she probably should put it to good use!
(Isn't it so fun)
So last night was the first night that she slept in that cute little room all by herself. She did great! I may not have slept as well as I wanted to, I was a little worried I wouldn't hear her cry, but we made it through. Caleb got up once when she was coughing so bad. He thought it had woken her up, so he was ready to put the binky back in her mouth, but he didn't even have to go in her room she went back to sleep on her own. Dang cough that she has won't go away! (the doctor said she was fine and we see him again tomorrow, so yes I have had it checked out)

Here she is in her crib, in her own room!!

Hopefully she will do as good as last night every night! I know there will be times that I will have to get up, but if most nights are like last night I think I can do it! She is growing up so fast!

It Officially Starts!

That is right whether I am ready or not, BYU football season has officially begun! Those of you that know us, know that we are die hard BYU fans. Well I should say Caleb is a die hard BYU fan. I enjoy watching them play, but I would not be heart broken if I missed a game. I truly believe that Caleb may shed a tear if he has to miss a game! (Love ya Babe)
Caleb and I were both excited for this season to start so that we could dress Makalya in her first BYU outfit. While we were in Provo this summer I went to the bookstore and bought her a BYU shirt. Yes it is pink, but it still says BYU on it. Daddy couldn't have been more proud of his little BYU fan!

Daddy and Mommy with their baby BYU fan!

Since our friends Kipp and Krystal are also big BYU fans we decided to watch the first game with them. I figured it was better to have someone there that Caleb could talk football with, so that I didn't have to the whole game long. We took some cute pictures of the kids in their BYU attire.

Here is Makalya, Kyson, and me getting ready for the big game!!

Here are the proud daddy's with their "little cougars"
(Caleb with Makayla & Kip with Kyson and Taylee)
It was an exciting game with a great ending! BYU won by a score of 41-17 (I think) The boys really enjoyed it and I was happy because as some of you know if BYU doesn't win I don't get any sleep and no it isn't because Makayla doesn't sleep it is because her daddy doesn't sleep!! Not everyone enjoyed it as much as the boys did.

Here are the poor girls all worn out having to watch the entire game. Lets just say that I am glad she doesn't share the same enthusiasm for the game as her daddy!
GO BYU!!!!

Long Semester!!

This last week was my first official week back at school with the students. After one week I have come to the conclusion I don't know how I am going to do it! While I love my students, I am not so sure that I love being in that hot room away from my little girl for the majority of the day. I think that I forgot how much work teaching really is.

Now that I am back I feel like I have three full time jobs instead of the one that I was use to all summer long.
I am a MOMMY
a WIFE
and a TEACHER
who is trying real hard to be good at all three. Only time will tell how good of a job I will do. Not only did I start back to school this past week, but Caleb did also. He too is torn, while he loves learning he also hates to be away from his family for that amount of time. He is gone everyday until 8:00 pm and on Wednesdays he is gone until 10:00 pm. Did I mention that this was going to be a very long semester!

Family Camping Trip

A few weeks ago we took Makayla on her first camping trip. We went up to the Uintas. It was suppose to be a relaxing trip before school was to start for Caleb and I, but it was the opposite. We had a fun time, don't get me wrong, but relaxing isn't what I would call it with a 4 1/2 month old child!
First of all it was so cold up there, and Makayla isn't use to being bundled up, so that was a challenge. Also we slept in my parents trailer so that we wouldn't be as cold and the heater didn't work all the time, so that was hard. Since it was cold at night we didn't sleep very well at night. With all that said we did have some fun playing games, going fishing, sitting by the camp fire, and talking about Twilight!

Here are some fun pictures from our trip to the mountains. Most of them are of Makayla, but hey that is who you all care to see anyways.

These are pictures of what Makayla had to where up there because it was so cold. I had her in a long sleeve onesie, feet pajamas, sweats, a fleece jacket, a beanie, and little mitten gloves! Even though it was freezing up there at night, she still had to have her hands above her head! Silly little girl.

Here are some pictures of Caleb and what he enjoyed doing up at camp. He caught a pretty big fish and was so proud of it, I just had to take a picture. Also he took his paintball guns up to play with. He had a lot of fun playing one-on-ones with my cousin Matt and brother Cory. The last picture is my favorite. That is what happens when you mess with me! You see when Cory and Jerilyn got up to camp Jerilyn thought of a fun game that we could play. Our husbands would run and we would chase them with the paintball guns. Caleb was all game saying there was no way we would be able to hit them. Cory was a little more hesitant. I guess that is what Caleb gets for being so confident. Yes I hit him in the face with a paintball! I felt really bad, but he said that it didn't hurt. He had a pretty fat lip for the rest of the trip. Luckily it went away before we got back so he didn't have to explain to everyone that his wife beat him at paintball!!!

Here is Makayla enjoying the trip, during the daytime! She loves to hang upside down and would do it forever if mom wasn't so worried about all the blood rushing to her head. She also enjoyed the lake. Here she is sitting with grandma Hunter while we fished.

Makayla and Grandma Hunter just chilling! They did a lot of this! Isn't her outfit the cutest! Thanks Brooke! Also Makayla and mom sitting by the fire. We were so glad we could have fires this year!

So there you have it our first little camping trip with Makayla!
