Pumpkin Carving

Carving pumpkins with kids is both fun and exhausting!
On the Sunday before Halloween we did our annual pumpkin carving.
The girls had a lot of fun digging out the "guts" and helping us carve the pumpkins.
I love this face.
This was the first time she actually touched the stuff!
She got use to it and then she loved it
Makayla wasted no time at all and dug right in. She kept offering to dig all the pumpkins out.
She absolutely LOVED it!

I love this tradition and spending time with family!

Palmer Graduation!!!

WE MADE IT!
October 19, 2012 was a day I was looking forward to for a very long time and now I can officially say that Caleb is a Doctor! He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic. I am so very proud of him and his accomplishment!
They make you come back to Iowa for graduation no matter what, which I think is kind of silly if you have left for a preceptorship, but oh well we went and we had a blast. We decided to take all the girls with us and some may say we were crazy, but hey they went on this adventure with us and they deserved to see their Daddy finally graduate. My parents also made the trip with us and were a huge help with the girls! Thanks so much Mom and Dad!
Caleb got a special award for his academic performance. So we got to go to a special awards ceremony the morning of graduation. I am very proud of him and the dedication he showed to his school work, while still managing to spend time with us. He always gives 110% to the things he does and I am so proud of him.
(Sorry the pictures are all so dark the lighting combined with my old camera don't make for very good pictures)
Graduation was at 1:00 PM and it was wonderful to finally see all his hard work pay off.

Caleb walking across the stage. He graduated with the highest honors you could.
He also got his Bachelors degree at the same time. Needless to say he worked very hard for the 3 1/3 years we were there. He took 30+ credits of Doctorate work a trimester and then added 6 credits of undergraduate work to that. It was grueling and that is why I am so proud of my husband!
At the end of the ceremony instead of throwing their caps in the air they threw business cards. it was pretty cool to see them all come falling down.

Travis, Mark, Caleb, and Paul
Caleb started and finished this program with 3 other great guys. They became such great friends along the way and sometimes I don't know what he would have done without them!
Crystal, Marci, Tiffany, and Natalie
Caleb started and finished with 3 great guys and I did the same with their wives! I LOVE these ladies so much and don't think I would have made it without them!
The Group
(minus the 9 kids)
Another person I love to death, Macy!
Her husband started later than Caleb, but we became great friends and boy do I miss her!
Side view of the gown, the cool part as my mother would say.
Caleb and I!
I can't believe we made it!
My parents have been such a huge support these last 3 1/3 years and it was only fitting for them to be there to see his great accomplishment! Thanks Mom and Dad for all you have done for us and all you continue to do for us!
(Like let us and our three children live with you!)

Caleb's Mom was also able to come and support him. We were so grateful that she was able to come, it means a lot to him to have had someone from his family there. Thanks for coming Dory!

Caleb and our neighbor and good friend Bobby!
We got lucky and got to have this great family as our neighbors while we lived in Iowa.  The Allen's will always hold a special place in our hearts!

Our sweet little family
We started as a family of 3 and finished as a family of 5. Crazy how things change in a few years!

Daddy and his girls!
He is one lucky guy wouldn't you say.
Trying the cap on for size

While we were in Iowa we had to go to the Machine Shed for breakfast. It is an Iowa tradition. There they give you a free tractor ride, so that is just what we did. Even though it was freezing cold and we never thought it was going to end we still had a great time.
Riding the pig and making a pig sound!

Had to have this picture of our true Iowa child and some corn!
What a great weekend it was. Graduation, seeing old friends, and just spending time with our family!
Caleb we are so proud of you and know that you will make such a great Chiropractor!

Field Trip -Black Island Farm

Have I mentioned how much I love Makayla being in Pre-School? Well I do! She loves it so much and I love that she is learning and making new friends!
Makayla's first field trip with her pre-school was to a pumpkin patch. They were going to Black Island Farm and we got to go with her! It was a lot of fun and a lot cheaper than if we had tried to go on our own so it was a win-win situation.
Here she is with some of the kids in her class.
Sisters! Sometimes I think Lucy thinks she should go to school with Makayla. Lucy was so excited to get to go on this trip with her.
Makayla, Lucy, and one of their best friends Taylee.

The girls even got to pick one for Nicole which was nice of them.
After the pumpkin patch we got to play at the farm. There was a lot of things for them to do and they had a blast. Here they are waiting for their turn in the bounce house.
Having fun inside.
Barrel train ride. The girls insisted on riding in the same one, even though there was room for them to ride in their very own. These two are such good friends!
Daddy got to ride with Lucy. I think he enjoys the ride as much as the kids do!
Daddy and Lucy coming down the big slide
Makayla went down head first. She is such a daring child. Sometimes it makes me a little nervous!
They also had some pig races that we watched. It was actually pretty funny to watch as the pigs squealed and raced around a little track.
Watching the races!
We had a lot of fun and the weather was perfect. I look forward to the many other field trips that she gets to go on this year!
