All Around Bad Day!

Well it was an all around bad day here at the Lorenc house yesterday. It should have been a great day; I had the day off of school, because it was fall break, I got to spend the whole day with Makayla, and BYU was playing what more could I ask for.

I started the day off by going and getting my eyes checked. I couldn't see out of my contacts anymore. Well the doctor told me my eyes had indeed changed. I got new contacts and headed back home that was the only good thing that happened. When I got home was when it all went down hill.

I got home and fed Makayla her usual morning cereal. About an hour after that she decided she was going to throw it all up. No it wasn't just a little spit up, she actually threw up. We decided that she may have had a touch of the flu since she had been exposed to someone who had it on Monday. We had hoped that she was going to be spared, but apparently not.

She threw up 2 other times and wouldn't really eat anything. I felt so bad for her. She wasn't feeling well, but she was surprisingly still a pretty happy baby. I spent the rest of the day trying to keep her happy without moving her around too much.

To add to the sick child we watched an awful football game, BYU vs TCU. If you didn't get to see it you didn't miss out on much. Even though we are big BYU fans I am here to say they stunk it up last night! Both Caleb and I couldn't believe how bad they looked. We hope this will be a wake up call and they will play better! We are blaming this loss on the fact that Makayla was sick and couldn't wear her BYU shirt and support them like she usually does.

Just a little update today is much better! Makayla is still a little bit tired, she didn't sleep much, but she is keeping food down so that is a good sign. I think she is over the flu. Now I just hope me and Caleb don't get it!

Twilight Character

Since I am a huge Twilight fan I thought it would be fun to see which character I was. I took this quiz and I ended up being Esme. I also made Caleb take it while he was sitting by me doing homework. As he was taking it he said to me, "I bet I am going to be Edward!" I laughed at him! He only said it because he knows that I like Edward a lot! Well he took the quiz and needless to say he wasn't Edward, he was Emmett. I know I am weird, but it was still fun to do!
You are thoughtful and care very deeply for your family. A loving home is of great
importance to you and you always try to make people feel welcome. Although you have a great capacity to love, you also have a great capacity to hurt, so at times you can be
sensitive. You're firm when you need to be, but people trust your judgment and
appreciate the kind way you always handle things.
You are strong and playful, with a good sense of humor. If there’s a problem, you’d rather be actively doing something than sitting around coming up with solutions. Despite you’re aggressive and competitive nature though, you’re always there to backup those closest to you.

French Fries.......YUM!

On Friday night, my parents called us and asked if we wanted to go to dinner with them. Our response was of course YES! I am not one to turn down going out to dinner. I would go out every night if I could talk Caleb into it and we could afford it! I am not one who likes to cook. I can never think of anything to make, I don't like to slave over a stove for hours, Caleb gets home really late, and I am usually really tired by dinner time. Weekends are usually dedicated to going out to eat, because yes, I refuse to cook after a long week at work!
Anyway, we went with my parents and my brother and his wife to Red Robin, one of my favorites. Makayla is sitting up on her own now so we decided to get her a high chair and let her sit with us at dinner.
Here she is! She is so proud! Don't you just love her smile!
Of course she lasted in the high chair until our food arrived. At that point she wanted to sit with us so that she could grab at all of our food. Sometimes I think that we should skip the baby food and go straight to real food!
She would not sit still, so to satisfy her we let her suck on a french fry. She absolutely loved it and couldn't get enough of it.
She knew exactly where that french fry was suppose to go.
When dad would take his turn, this is what would happen until she got her turn again! I guess we need to work on patience with this little girl!
On a side note, it was much easier to take her out when she littler. She use to just sit in her car seat and sleep or play, now she wants to be a part of everything! Oh the joys of growing up!

Breaking News!!!

I finally figured out how to upload a video on to my blog! Ok so that isn't the breaking news although it is a big accomplishment. The news has to do of course with Makayla!

We have a new milestone in Ms. Makayla's life! She has conquered the task of rolling over! She can roll from her back to her tummy now! She hasn't mastered going the other way yet. For now she thinks it is fun to roll onto her tummy and then after a few minutes start to cry, because she hates her tummy. Then have mom turn her back over and do it again, let me tell you it gets pretty old having to turn her back over because she is crying! I know, I should just let her cry because then she will learn how to roll the other way, but I can only handle the crying for so long.

She first learned to do this rolling over thing on Tuesday Oct. 7th. I had to stay a few minutes later at school than I normally do, so I called the babysitter and asked if it would be alright to come and get Makayla a few minutes late. She was fine with that and told me that Makayla had a new trick to show me, and that she had learned it in the last 5 minutes or so. I knew right away that she had rolled over. I was a little sad because I had missed her rolling over for the first time, but what can you do. This is one of the downfalls to having to work while she is young, but I am trying to stay positive and tell myself it is only until the end of the school year and then I get to stay home with her! (Even if it is in IOWA!)

I decided to go quickly home and record her rolling over since it was still her first day of rolling over. She cried on the recording that I did when I got home, so we recorded her again when Caleb got home and that is one that I have included on here for all of you to enjoy!

School Carnival

A couple of Fridays ago we took Makalya to her first school carnival. I know she is kind of young to enjoy it, but we really went for me. I love any kind of carnival big or small. This one was put on by my mom's elementary school. Also the person who put it all together was Makayla's babysitter so we wanted to go and show our support for it. Okay, okay I really just wanted to go that is why we went. While at the carnival Makayla enjoyed her first cake walk with her dad, we forgot the camera so no pictures, and no she didn't win. We kept saying she is too cute to loose, she should just win because she is so cute! They didn't care! She also went on her first hayride. Makayla's babysitters husband was giving the rides so of course we had to go and visit him to. She seemed to enjoy it. She just sat on my lap and stared as we went around the soccer field. We got home and decided we wanted at least one picture of her on this, the day she went to her first carnival.
Here she is in her stroller. This is the first time she has ridden in it sitting up. Up until now she has been in her car seat in the stroller! Boy is she getting so big. Also notice the arms and hands, they are holding on to the side of the stroller for dear life! I tell ya she is always doing this!

Single and Looking!

A few weeks ago on a Sunday my cousin came to my parent's house for dinner. He came riding up on his new motorcycle in the poring rain! He didn't know it was suppose to be rainy that day, even though it had been in the weather report for a long time before. Anyway he had to put all his clothes in the dry while he was their house. When it was starting to get late and he decided he needed to go he asked my mom for some plastic bags for his feet so that they wouldn't get wet as he drove home. My dad did one better and got him this raincoat and pants! He put it all on, plastic bags on the feet and all! We had a good laugh with him and his response was "At least I won't get wet this way!" As he left we thought what would it be like to be driving down the freeway and look to your side and see this young guy riding a nice motorcycle wearing this bright yellow rain gear and plastic bags on his feet. We spent the rest of the night laughing our heads off! Brandon we love ya! Thanks for making us laugh!
Yes ladies he is SINGLE (for the time being)!!!
Here he is getting those plastic bags on his feet to keep the water out!

Here he is getting ready to ride home in the rain!
