4th Of July, Temple Square, & Camping

Well I think everyone will be happy to know that this is the last of the 2010 Utah Summer Trip! I know there have been a lot of pictures, but that is because there are a lot of memories! This post will be about the 4th of July, A trip to Temple Square, and the traditional Uinta Camping trip.

Makayla in her 4th of July outfit, and yes I made it! I know it is hard to believe but I actually picked out the material and made it into a cute little dress for my cute little girl! The band of material in the middle is there because it was a little bit big on her, so we had to improvise. I also made the hair bows. I know you are all still in shock, but I am so proud of myself.

I had to add this one because she is just so cute in it! Love her!

We started the day out by going to the WB parade. Here is Makayla and some of my cousins kids. It was so fun to have them come to the parade with us. It is the best parade! Not too long, not too short, just down the street from my parents house, and they throw lots and lots of candy!
The whole group that came to the parade

Waiting patiently for the parade to start.

Showing off her patriotic side!

After the parade we went to my Aunt's house for swimming and a BBQ. Makayla loves to swim so she was in heaven up there. I love the 4th of July, and spending time with family!
She loved swimming so much that it wore her out. I asked my dad to hold her for just a min. and I came back to find this. It was so sweet to see Makayla and her Grandpa get to spend time together!

Makayla and her Great-Grandma Marchant!

Taking care of Grandma's flowers!
Since the 4th of July landed on a Sunday we did all of our celebrating the Saturday before. So when Sunday came around we still wanted to do something fun so we decided to take Makayla to Temple Square. The whole family came so that made me very happy!

Makayla and her Daddy at the Conference Center on the roof. We got to tour the roof, which was fun because most of us had never been up there before.
Makayla in front of the Salt Lake Temple. She loves to see the different Temples and she always says that she is going to get married in there like mommy and daddy! It is the sweetest thing!
I had to add this picture of the boys in here. Cory, Eric, Dad, and Caleb.
I love all of these boys so much!
They were all wearing matching shirts that they got from Ohio, they thought they were so funny and cool!

They had to show the backside of the shirts as well.
Family picture at Temple Square.

For the last week of our Summer trip we went on a camping trip. We went up to the Uintas. We went with my family, the Martins, and the Marchants. I was worried about going up there with Makayla and being pregnant, but it was a lot of fun. Makayla LOVED it and I am so glad we went. We have taken Makayla camping every summer since she has been born.
Makayla and her Daddy on the 4-wheeler. She was always climbing up on these hinting to daddy that she wanted a ride. Of course he gave in a few times and took her for rides.
Makayla fishing. She was so excited to go fishing and that was all she could talk about when we got up in the mountains. When we finally took her she caught her first fish on the first cast and she was so excited.

Makayla and her Mommy fishing. I know she looks so happy right? Well I promise she was happy, she was just trying to be funny and well it worked!!!

See I told you she was happy to be with me! Oh and look at that fish that I caught!!! That is right I caught the biggest fish on the camping trip. I really hate fish so for me to hold it was a big deal.
My parents were nice enough to let us sleep in their trailer. It was a lot warmer than the tent and kept Makayla asleep a lot longer in the morning. Here is Makayla and Daddy during our usual bedtime routine.

This girl loves camping!!!!

Well that concludes the Summer posts. I know it was a lot, but I hope you all enjoyed the pictures and hearing all about our adventures in Utah. While it was nice to get back into regular life again we do miss Utah, family, and friends!
Utah we will see you at Christmas time!!!

Living Aquarium, Zoo, & Bee's Game!

This post has a LOT of pictures in it, not like the other ones didn't or anything, but I just couldn't decide which ones to put in and which ones to leave out. This post is about our trip to the Living Planet Aquarium, the Zoo, and to Bee's baseball game.

First is our trip to the Living Planet Aquarium. The whole family was able to come to this one and we had a lot of fun.
See how happy she is when she is on the frog by herself. Now add Uncle Eric.....
and this is what happens!
She was so funny with the two boys one second she loved them and then the next she didn't want anything to do with them, but she really does love them so much and they love her too!
Family Picture on the frog!

The one thing I was so excited for was having Makayla touch the sting rays, they have them in an area where you can touch them. When I saw Makayla go right up and touch this snake I thought yes she is going to love the sting rays and be all about them. By the way she is not my daughter I HATE snakes!
When it came time for the sting rays this is what happened instead, she freaked out! She wanted nothing to do with them. She even got to the point where she didn't even want to look at them. Oh well the rest of us had fun touching them. Most of us did that is!
Uncle Eric taking his turn
I think Caleb had the most fun with this. He thought it was so cool to touch them.
Then it was my turn. I think my face says it all. Not a big fan of slimy things.
So cute! Uncle Eric, Makayla and Uncle Cory
We wanted a good picture of Makayla by the sting rays, so we took her back after we looked at everything else and she was ok being by them as long as we didn't try to make her touch them.
Grandma and Makayla!
I wanted to get a picture of Makayla with Grandpa though the glass, and it turned out pretty good, but the one I got before was even better!
I thought he was pulling a face at me, but he told me he was sneezing. What a funny picture!

After having so much fun at the Living Aquarium we decided to take Makayla to the Zoo. (not on the same day of course) She loves the zoo out here so we knew she would love it. The Utah Zoo is a lot bigger than the zoo out here, and to be honest sometimes smaller is better!
Drinking from the Lion's mouth!
We went to a bird show and after it Makayla was able to donate a dollar and have a bird take it from her hand. She thought it was so cool!
Riding the Tigers!
Look at the Iguana above there heads. Crazy!
No trip to the zoo is complete with out a ride on the carousal. She loves it so much! I was glad daddy was there to ride it with her so that I didn't have to worry about getting motion sickness!
Family picture again! I love these two so much!
Makayla and Uncle Eric
Grandma, Makayla, and Uncle Eric
We really had so much fun!
Giraffe Head!!!
One of Caleb's favorite things is baseball so we thought it would be fun to take Makayla to a game while we were out there. She did better than I thought she would, thanks to the boys entertaining her with seeds!
She would go from one to the other tasting both kinds of seeds that they had! The boys loved this time with her.
Cory got himself in trouble when he told Makayla to ask for a snow cone and I turned it back on him. He ended up giving into her, who could resist her, and bought her one. Look how happy she is!
Makayla also got to meet Bee. She was so proud and got her ticket signed and all. The only thing missing from this game was a baseball. Let me tell you we tried really hard to get her one too.
Thanks Grandpa for getting us the tickets!
That is it for this post!
Still more to come from Utah!

Carnival, 1st Movie, & Boat Races!!!!

Our next round of fun started with a carnival at my grandma's apartment. It was a lot of fun! They had little games to play for prizes, cotton candy (my favorite), food, western pictures, bounce house, pony rides, and a mechanical bull. Needless to say it was a lot of fun and Makayla loved it!
Eric wanted to ride the bull so bad, even though the only people in line for it were little kids. He got his dream and got to ride it!
Makayla saw her Uncle ride it wanted to try herself. I thought she would just be happy with sitting on the bull so we put her up there and took a picture of it and I thought we were good. Boy was I wrong!
As soon as we took her off she freaked out and said she wanted it to move. So we asked if we could put her on and have it go very slow. They were good with it and she loved it!
Daddy giving her some words of encouragement before her big ride!
Look at the face she loved it! I have a dare devil on my hands!
Bounce house, what kid doesn't like the bounce house? Well mine doesn't when there are other kids in there. She only got to go in for a few min. because then it was over taken with big kids and she had a melt down!
Last of all was the pony ride. She rode the pony a few times and loved it each time! She is getting so big. Sometimes she wanted us to walk with her other times she did not.

While in Utah we took Makayla to her first movie. She loves the Toy Story movies so we thought it would be perfect to take her to Toy Story 3 for her first movie. She enjoyed it, but I think she would have done better if there weren't so many previews! I think that for matinee kids movies there should not be previews, but hey who am I! I think she enjoyed her treats a little bit more than the movie, but oh well it was a lot of fun.

Enjoying her snacks!
The last thing for this post is the Rain-Gutter Regatta we went to. My parents ward had an activity with dinner and boat racing. It was a lot of fun, but I think the most fun was watching Grandpa paint and put together our boat with Makayla's help. They make a great team!
Makayla and the finished product. She was so proud of our Elmo boat.
(Daddy drew the Elmo on it)
To race the boats you had to blow them down the rain-gutter. It was fun to watch everyone compete. Makayla got to help both Grandpa and Daddy race the boats. She won once, but then the sail got wet and that was end of it, but she still loved every second of it!
Helping Grandpa race the boat!
Helping Daddy race this time.
Still more to come on our trip to Utah! Sorry if you are board with all of these posts, but it is a great way for me to document all of the things we got to do!
