Girls Night Out

After two months of staying home with my beautiful daughter,
(Just thought I would throw this picture in)

I decided I really needed a girls night out. I just needed to get away for a few hours, because we all know that I can't be away from my baby for too long. So my mom, my sister-in-law, and I went out and got pedicures! Caleb bought me one for Valentine's Day, since I couldn't reach my feet to paint them due to the pregnancy. I obviously didn't use it while I was pregnant, so I used it last night and all I have to say is WOW! I was missing out! My friends have talked about pedicures and how great they are, but I have never listened to them. It was so nice to have someone give me a pedicure! If you haven't ever taken the time to get a pedicure I highly recommend you do, they are heavenly! Even my mother who wasn't big on the idea to start with admitted that it was well worth it. I have decided that I need to get one more often, hopefully Caleb will agree with me!!

Caleb's First Father's Day

Well Sunday was Caleb's first "real" father's day and I think he truly enjoyed it. I made sure that he got breakfast in bed and that he got to relax all day long. Even though he enjoyed that, it was still hard for him to let me wait on him hand and foot. You see I have one of the greatest husbands who always wants to do things for me. He is not only one of the greatest husbands, but he is also one of the greatest dads! He loves to be around his little girl. Since he is gone most of the day with school and work, when he is home all he wants to do is play with and take care of Makayla. Sometimes I have to force him to stop playing with her so that he can study and pass his classes.

Here is Caleb and Makayla before church on Caleb's first father's day!!

After church we went over to my parents house to have a BBQ. That is where Caleb got his father's day present from Makayla and I. Before church I had given Caleb a volleyball, so he wasn't expecting what he got later. While at my parents house I asked Caleb to go and get the folding chairs out of the closet in my old bed room. When he went to get them out there they were with a big bow on the front of them. What were they you ask, his new GOLF CLUBS! He has wanted golf clubs for awhile now, but wouldn't buy them for himself because they do cost a pretty little penny. So I went and bought them for him, because we all know I don't have a problem spending money! He has only had them for two days and he is already using them to putt around the house, go figure! He will really get to use them when we go to St. George with my family for a little vacation this summer.

Here he is with his new found love!

Car Seat Adventures

Since Makayla was born she has hated her car seat. When we would put her in the seat she would scream! For that reason we didn't like to go anywhere when she was first born. I hoped and prayed that it was just a phase and that she would eventually grow to like the car seat. Luckily she has out grown that horrible phase. Now we are onto a new phase and that involves "THE" face!
This is what happens each and every time we put her in the car seat now. As we pull the strap to make it tight she makes it look like we are pulling it so tight that we are strangling her. Her eyes look like they are going to pop out of her head and her mouth opens as if her breath is being taken away. At first I wondered if it really was too tight, but Caleb showed me how loose it really was. So now we just sit and laugh when she does this.

Here is a close up of her face. See how big her eyes are! She is such a silly girl!

Makayla The First Two Months

I just thought that some of you might like to see some more updated pictures of Makayla since she is now 2-months old. So here are some pictures of her and how she has changed.
Here she is at one week old! People said she looked a lot older than one week when they saw these first pictures of her.

This was something that I would find Caleb doing a lot! He would come home, find Makayla, and put her next to him so that he could take a nap with her. Daddy loves his little girl!

This is our "dramatic" baby girl! We find that she likes to sleep with her hands up by her head.

This is perhaps my favorite picture of her and the story behind it is great too! It was one of the first days home from the hospital and I was getting ready to feed her after having changed two poopy diapers not a min. apart. Right before I started she froze with this face and her hand in that position and then it happened. She let it go again for the THIRD time! She pulled this same face whenever she needed to go for about the next month or so. Sad to say she has mostly stopped pulling it now.

Here she is just "Chillin" in her blanket

Look at that grin! She was smiling like crazy the day we took these, but every time we would snap the picture she would stop or we would miss it because of the delayed reaction.

This was at Grandma Hunter's house one Sunday afternoon. This is one of our favorite dresses that she has. Wow she is so cute!

This is her most recent picture. I took it the day she turned two months old. I love this little girl!

Makayla's Story

I told you this blog would turn into an all about Makayla blog so here is the first entry of many more to come. Makayla is now two months old! I wanted to share some pictures from the day she was born and tell you a little bit about that great day. Well it all started early Monday morning March 31, 2008 I went into the hospital to be induced. It wasn't because I had to be induced, but because I wanted to. You see I didn't want an April Fools baby! Well after about a 10 hour labor she was here! She was born at 5:33 pm! She was 7lbs 6oz and was 20 1/4 inches long. I remember thinking I can't believe she is finally here, and I am officially a MOM! We go back and forth about who she looks like. Some think she looks just like Caleb and others think she looks just like me, so who really knows. I just know that she is the most beautiful little girl that I have every seen! (I know I am biased, but oh well!!) Makayla truly is a blessing in our life and we are so glad that she is here with us! Enjoy the pictures!

Our first family picture!

Makayla getting all cleaned up!

She had a really bad cone head when she was born.
Here she is getting her hair done! (She is so cute!)

This is what would happen each time I would try
to feed her. We said she had narcolepsy!
