Our Journey to Utah

Ok so I have a month worth of pictures from our trip home to Utah to post, but I am just going to take my time. I thought about posting all the pictures at once, but that would be a ton in one post, so I am going to make several posts about the trip and include pictures all along the way. So here we go!
First we will start out with the LONG drive out there! It was a total of 24 hours to get there, no that is not the normal time it takes if you go on I-80, but we decided to take a little detour to see some of Caleb's family and that is why it took so long, but it was worth it to get to see his sister and dad.
Makayla driving in the car. She insisted on having the pillow there. I am not sure how comfortable it was but she didn't want it any other way. All I can say is thank goodness for portable DVD players! It entertained her the entire time!
We made our first stop in Kansas to visit Caleb's sister and spend the night. Thanks so much Cami for letting us crash at your place! It was great to see you! On our way there we made a small stop in Liberty, Missouri. We were able to see Liberty Jail, where the Prophet Joseph Smith was falsely imprisoned. I can't imagine having to be in there, and being in there for no reason at all.
One cool thing about living out here is how close we are to all the Church history sites. It makes everything so real!
Family picture at Liberty Jail.
Makayla wanted to talk to all the manikins that they have in the Jail. All but one of them. He was sitting on the ground at the back of the Jail and she wasn't so sure about him! You can't see him in the picture, but trust her he was scary looking! Haha!
Makayla and Aunt Cami.
After spending the night at Cami's we got back in the car and made our way to our next stop in Colorado to visit Caleb's dad. Even though it wasn't Utah it was sure nice to see the Mountains when we got to Colorado. I sure miss them! This is Makayla the next day. This time she used her neck pillow I made for her. I think it was a little more comfortable, but I am not sure.
We spent the weekend with Caleb's dad, and it just happened to be father's day weekend. So what a great treat. Makayla and her daddy on father's day with the tie she made in nursery!
We had a lot of fun visiting with Pops and CC. Thanks so much for letting us stay with you.

Look at those socks! She really wanted to put them on and she was just so cute with them, we had to take a picture!

After a great Father's Day weekend we left and made our final drive into Utah! More to come in the next few days on that part of the trip.

It look like you had a great time. I am looking forwad to seeing the other things you did on your vacation.

Do we get to see a baby tummy yet?
