Long Semester!!

This last week was my first official week back at school with the students. After one week I have come to the conclusion I don't know how I am going to do it! While I love my students, I am not so sure that I love being in that hot room away from my little girl for the majority of the day. I think that I forgot how much work teaching really is.

Now that I am back I feel like I have three full time jobs instead of the one that I was use to all summer long.
I am a MOMMY
a WIFE
and a TEACHER
who is trying real hard to be good at all three. Only time will tell how good of a job I will do. Not only did I start back to school this past week, but Caleb did also. He too is torn, while he loves learning he also hates to be away from his family for that amount of time. He is gone everyday until 8:00 pm and on Wednesdays he is gone until 10:00 pm. Did I mention that this was going to be a very long semester!

Family Camping Trip

A few weeks ago we took Makayla on her first camping trip. We went up to the Uintas. It was suppose to be a relaxing trip before school was to start for Caleb and I, but it was the opposite. We had a fun time, don't get me wrong, but relaxing isn't what I would call it with a 4 1/2 month old child!
First of all it was so cold up there, and Makayla isn't use to being bundled up, so that was a challenge. Also we slept in my parents trailer so that we wouldn't be as cold and the heater didn't work all the time, so that was hard. Since it was cold at night we didn't sleep very well at night. With all that said we did have some fun playing games, going fishing, sitting by the camp fire, and talking about Twilight!

Here are some fun pictures from our trip to the mountains. Most of them are of Makayla, but hey that is who you all care to see anyways.

These are pictures of what Makayla had to where up there because it was so cold. I had her in a long sleeve onesie, feet pajamas, sweats, a fleece jacket, a beanie, and little mitten gloves! Even though it was freezing up there at night, she still had to have her hands above her head! Silly little girl.

Here are some pictures of Caleb and what he enjoyed doing up at camp. He caught a pretty big fish and was so proud of it, I just had to take a picture. Also he took his paintball guns up to play with. He had a lot of fun playing one-on-ones with my cousin Matt and brother Cory. The last picture is my favorite. That is what happens when you mess with me! You see when Cory and Jerilyn got up to camp Jerilyn thought of a fun game that we could play. Our husbands would run and we would chase them with the paintball guns. Caleb was all game saying there was no way we would be able to hit them. Cory was a little more hesitant. I guess that is what Caleb gets for being so confident. Yes I hit him in the face with a paintball! I felt really bad, but he said that it didn't hurt. He had a pretty fat lip for the rest of the trip. Luckily it went away before we got back so he didn't have to explain to everyone that his wife beat him at paintball!!!

Here is Makayla enjoying the trip, during the daytime! She loves to hang upside down and would do it forever if mom wasn't so worried about all the blood rushing to her head. She also enjoyed the lake. Here she is sitting with grandma Hunter while we fished.

Makayla and Grandma Hunter just chilling! They did a lot of this! Isn't her outfit the cutest! Thanks Brooke! Also Makayla and mom sitting by the fire. We were so glad we could have fires this year!

So there you have it our first little camping trip with Makayla!

Mixed Emotions

As this week starts I have mixed feelings. First I am very excited because we are taking Makayla on her first camping trip. We are leaving tomorrow to go to the Uintas with my parents, my brother and sister-in-law, and my Aunt Sue's family. We are very excited to get away for a little bit, but the sad part comes when we get back. Exactly one week from today I have to go back to school! This means that my summer is officially over in one week. It has definitely been way too short! This year it is even harder for me to get excited to go back to school, because that means I have to leave Makayla with a babysitter. We have found a lady that we think will do a great job, but it will still be very hard to leave my little girl. I have come to love spending everyday with her. She is getting so big and changing so much I don't want to miss anything. I keep reminding myself it is only for one more year, then I plan to stay home with her while we live in Iowa.
Since I am talking about Makayla I will post some cute pictures that I took of her recently. These were taken just after she turned 4 months old. I just love her in this little orange dress,
I bought it in St. George. I didn't know she had spit up on her dress or else these would be perfect pictures of her. I hope you enjoy!

She is so Adorable!!

Girls Camp 2008

This past week was my ward's girls camp and I am the camp director, this is my second year with this calling, so I got to go. We went to Camp Piuta and it was a lot of fun. Our ward has a very small young women's program, and so we only had 2 girls go to camp this year. We had 2 girls and 5-6 leaders each day, crazy I know, but it was so much fun. I love these girls they are so much fun to be around. This is the last year I will get to go to girls camp with these girls, because next year at this time I will be in Iowa, I can't believe how fast the time has gone.

It's Finally Here!!!

What is finally here that I am so excited about, you may be asking yourselves. After all Makayla is already here and what could be more exciting than that right? Well, I will tell you,
BREAKING DAWN!!!
For those of you that have no idea what I am talking about let me enlighten you. Breaking Dawn is the final book in the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. It is what I have been waiting for since last Christmas when I finished the first three books in the series. Yes, you could say that I do have a little obsession with these books. It is all thanks to a fellow teacher at my school. She kept pressuring me to read these books, talking all the time about "Edward" ! I thought she was crazy and had no desire to read them. I finally gave in, really to get her to stop hounding me and to prove to her that I wouldn't like them, only to find myself in love with them and yes in love with Edward as well. Caleb thinks it is crazy that I am reading books about vampires and werewolves and enjoying them, because I do not like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. He can't see how I can like these books and not enjoy the for mentioned ones. But I can and I do! For those of you out there thinking that I am crazy and weird I can only tell you to read them. They are great books and hey, maybe you will become a fan as well.
Another reason my husband thinks I am crazy and obsessed with these books is the fact that I went to a release party for the book on Friday night. I waited with many others, more adults than you would think since this is suppose to be for teenagers, until midnight and got my copy right when they officially went on sale. Call me crazy, but it was very fun indeed. The next day as Caleb and I were out shopping we saw lots of copies of the book that I was afraid I wouldn't get if I didn't go Friday night, but what would have been the fun in waiting until morning to get a copy, right? All I can say it that I have my copy of the book and I am excited to read it and find out what happens. And of course
Go Team Edward!!!
