A Little Get Away

One thing I wanted to do summer before I had this baby girl was to go and visit my Grandpa Hunter in St. George. I miss him so much and it has been a whole year since I last saw him. Living in Iowa makes it hard to get to see him and with him getting older, he is 94 right now, who knows when the last time will be. So we planned a little weekend get away to go down to St. George and visit Grandpa and see a play at Tuacahn. We did the same thing last year and saw The Little Mermaid and loved it. This year Aladdin was playing so we book some seats and headed down.
Lucy was too little again to go so we put her to sleep at my Aunt's house and enjoyed the show just Caleb, Makayla, Grandpa, Grandma, Eric, BreAnn, and I.
Makayla at the show wearing the 3D glasses that you needed for a part in the show.

Makayla with some of the people from the show. We were disappointed to learn that Aladdin and Jasmine wouldn't be coming up for pictures so we told Makayla that the two on the end were them. She saw right through it. Smart little girl she is.
The girls chilin' in the hotel room. They love staying in hotels mostly because they love the swimming pools that are there and yes it got put to good use!

Lucy enjoying some Panda Express. I just love how she is trying to eat her food with ONE chopstick! She wanted to use them so bad because her daddy was. Needless to say it took her a LONG time to eat!
And finally the whole reason we went down. Grandpa! Or in this case Great-Grandpa! These two girls love this man as do I! They had so much fun making pretend food for him. The look in his eyes was pure joy as he watched these two girls play around him.
I love this man!
Ok so here is the story about this picture. I always told my Grandpa that he had to live to be 100 years old so that I could put him on the Smucker's segment of the Today show. A few years ago I reminded him of that and he said to me don't wish that upon me and he laughed. He has been getting older and more frail so I decided to make him his own award so that he didn't have to live to be 100. Now that he has his award I think his life is complete! I am so grateful and lucky to have this amazing man as my Grandpa!

While we were there we also went and walked around the St. George Temple.

What a beautiful place! Were are so glad we got to go and see Grandpa and spend some time away from our crazy busy life at home!
